Personal Accounts Of Ellis Island Now Online
By: NY1 News
A collection of oral histories from people who passed through Ellis Island will now be available online.
The histories, over 1,500 of them, had only been available to visitors at the immigration
museum on Ellis Island.
Genealogy website Ancestry.com contacted the National Park Service, which did the interviews, and asked to host them on its website.
Over 12 million people passed through Ellis Island between 1892 and 1954.
